Nightingale News

Towards the end of term - activities…

This is a really busy end of the term with so much to think about, remember and keep up with! We know it can be tricky, so please do ask at the office or speak to  a teacher, if you think you might have forgotten something important. Our SMS texts and website pages will contain reminders.

Thank you to everyone who has helped out by volunteering to accompany trips and hear readers, as well as help out on the Friends’ events. All these things help  the children to get a good experience during their time here with us.
It has been heart-warming to hear the positive comments from visitors here and adults on trips, about the excellent behaviour and joyful enthusiasm of our  children.

New Website

We hope that you find our new website easy to use and full of the information you require. You can find it at www.nightingale.norfolk.sch.uk.
If you have any feedback, or suggestions for other information you would like to see on the site, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sports Day 2017

What a day! The weather, despite threatening rain over lunch, remained kind to us for the morning and both KS1 and EYFS were able to enjoy a tailored session with elements of team work and competitiveness. The children should be very proud of the way they represented themselves and thank you to all of the parents and extended family members who came to support the children. A big thank you to the Friends of Nightingale for helping with the teas and coffees. Well done, Mr Whitehead for another successful Sports Day!

Transition Day

Today the children have all visited their new classes. It has been lovely to welcome the new children into reception and Year 1 and younger children have also visited the Nursery for a stay and play. There were many smiles on the playground and in the classrooms so I’m sure the children will have lots to tell you when they arrive home.

Attendance

This week the whole school attendance is 95.62%
Our school attendance target is 96%, so as you can see we are below our target this week.
This week's winners of the attendance awards is Woodpecker with 98.77%.

Best Class Attendance

This week’s best class attendance goes to Mr Whitehead/Mrs Shepherd’s class who have a fantastic 100% attendance. Well done!

Friends Meeting

There is a Friends of Nightingale meeting on Monday night at 7:30pm.

Taverham Fayre
Congratulations to Emile from Reception and Jessica from Nursery for winning the Fancy Dress Parade at the Taverham Fayre last Saturday.  Emile looked fantastic dressed as a pirate and Jessica looked like a beautiful princess.
