Safeguarding at Nightingale

At Nightingale, all staff have a responsibility to safeguard children and adults. If you ever have a concern about a child or a member of staff then please contact one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads: Mrs Hart, Mr Coy, Mrs Boyce and Mrs Thurston. You can also ring Norfolk County Council on 0344 800 8020 if you have a concern about a child outside school.

Parents Evenings: Week Commencing 16th October
As of Monday morning your child's class will have it's Parents Evening Sign Up sheets displayed ready for you to select a slot. This will be your opportunity to find out how your child is getting on in school.  These will be located in the usual positions - Reception (outside Wren & Robin's Classrooms), Year One (at the top of the corridor from the side playground), Year Two (entrance foyer noticeboard). Please note that due to Mrs Martin's current absence there will only be a limited number of appointments to see Mr Whitehead.  Everybody from Goldfinch class,  unable to make an appointment, will be able to see Mrs Martin when convenient upon her return.

Pupil Asset Parent App: School Lunch Booking
Most parents are now signed up to the Pupil Asset Parent App and are booking their child's dinners on a weekly basis.  If you are not yet registered could we please urge you to do so. For further information please look at https://www.pupilasset.com/products/apps/parents-app.   We will no longer be able to  accept future email bookings of lunch orders.  For any parents/carers who do not have a device capable of downloading the app we are able to provide access to a school iPad to place lunch orders.   When choosing options please select HOT/VEG/JKT/SPL or NONE/HPL.  Any choices with 'Ad' prefixed are for staff/adults only.   If you have any queries regarding this contact the school office.

Threadworms
We currently have incidences of threadworms in school.  A threadworm infection is passed from person to person by swallowing threadworm eggs.  Eggs can be transferred to your mouth or on to food and objects such as toys and utensils.  If someone else touches a contaminated object or eats contaminated food and then touches their mouth they'll become infected.  They can be transferred to anything you touch including bed sheets and clothes, towels and flannels, children's toys, toothbrushes, furniture or kitchen and bathroom surfaces.  Threadworms infections most commonly affect young children because they often forget to wash their hands and share toys with other children.  Those people who are in close contact with someone with a threadworm infection also have a high risk of infection.  If you think your child/family members has a threadworm infection please seek your GP's or pharmacist's advice.  To treat threadworms successfully, all household members must be treated even if they don't have symptoms.  Check out the NHS choices website at http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Threadworms/Pages/Treatment.aspx for further advice on measures to take to maintain good hygiene and reduce the likelihood of reinfection.
