3.11.17 Newsletter

Welcome back to school, I hope that everyone enjoyed some family time over the half term.
There are a few updates for parents on staff matters. Mrs Martin is still unwell, therefore Mrs Malone-Johnstone will be teaching the Year 2 (Goldfinch) class until Mrs Martin returns. After Christmas, Mrs Malone will be joining the school as a Senior Teacher with responsibility for Assessment for Learning.
And from Monday, Debra Pummell will be joining the office staff in her role as Secretarial Assistant.  We welcome them both to Nightingale.
Attendance
This week the whole school attendance is 97.5%. Woodpeckers, Robins and Owl Class won the attendance award with 100%!
Our school attendance target is 96%, so as you can see we are above  our target this week!
Absence Reminder
Please remember to fill in an absence form if you have a planned absence from school.  Please ring the school absence line 01603 867976 if your child is off sick and will not be attending school. Thank you.

Children In Need
As you are probably aware Friday, 17th November, is ‘BBC Children In Need’ and children at Nightingale Infant School and Nursery are invited to take part by coming to school in Non-School Uniform and contributing £1.00 to the Appeal. Children may also bring their Pudsey bears, or teddy bears dressed as Pudsey to school on this day.  Please note that this is a voluntary activity.  Thank you for your support.
Message from Mrs Hart & Mrs Bessent
As part of Reception's topic of Festivals and Celebrations, we will be having a 'Birthday Party' on Friday.  Please can all children come to school dressed in party clothes that are also weather suitable!  Thank you.
